Career life at Steward Capital progresses steadily along a structured path. Each level has its own demands and special skills that our bankers possess. Our career paths are structured to help our talented people to continually strive to be better. Below is the career path for the entire firm. However, our specialized arms may have slightly customized paths, designed to suit their operations. Nonetheless, in terms of compensation and benefits, we operate a firm wide compensation scheme that takes into consideration the quality of service and skill set of our talents.

The following are Career Path for our Investment banking arm from Entry Level to Senior Level...

•  

  Analyst (Undergraduate entry level)

  Analyst at Steward Capital

  Our analysts are fresh undergraduates who have demonstrated exceptional skill and competence in quantitative skill, logic & reasoning, drafting, IT & Office Suite Skill and a good business acumen. These analyst are enrolled for a two-year program, after which the top performing analysts are often offered the chance to stay for a third year, and then finally the very best analysts are promoted after their third year to Associate status. 

  Analysts at Steward Capital, are the lowest in the hierarchical chain of the career path and thus are always overburden with lots of core modelling, comprising data inputs, analysis, presentations, and administrative support. Our analysts spend a lot of time putting together pitch books, Company Information Memoranda and briefs for both internal meetings as well as with clients (including prospective clients). Analyst at Steward also embark upon several administrative support services, such as scheduling, setting up conference calls and meetings, making travel arrangements and keeping an up-to-date working group list of deal team members.

  Associate (Graduate Entry Level / Confirmed Analyst)

  Steward Associates

  Successful Analysts gets promoted to become Associates. However, Steward Associates Programme equally recruits fresh MBA graduant’s with extreme talents and excellent business acumen. Our Associate programme last for a minimum of two years and up to a about five years. Promotion at this level is largely due to a multiplicity of factors and the top on the list is modelling skills.

  Further, the number of years it takes for Associates to get promoted also depend on the deals that the associate executes. The jobs that Associates at Steward Capital do is analogous to the analyst’s duties. The difference is that in addition to the core analyst task, associates have the supplementary obligation of serving as the link between junior and senior bankers, and in some instances, to work directly with clients.

  Business Group Manager (Account Manager/Portfolio Managers)

  Business Group Manager

  The next bankers after the associates are the business group managers who work as account managers. At these stage, our bankers are adept and possess a good deal of professional finesse. Business Group managers work in specific industries but sometimes their work may cut across several sectors and including handling projects and managing large portfolio of financial assets.

  Business group bankers usually possess a good deal of understanding in their industries and have relevant skill set to ensure clients enjoy a very professional and competent service mix. Promotion at this stage is hinge on the outcome of internal annual performance review and client’s endorsement quotient score.

  Vice Presidents (Senior Portfolio Manager/ Deal Maker In Training)

  Vice Presidents

  Vice president are senior bankers who work as senior portfolio Managers as well as deal makers. They source deals and maintain relationships with big clients. Their core responsibilities covers accounts maintenance and portfolio performance managements. Their work is primarily managerial and involves managing several teams and work groups across industries and sectors.

  Vice Presidential bankers have a wide variety of past backgrounds ranging from investment banking to corporate executive management. Aside from relationships, vice presidents often understand their industry landscape at a very detailed level and can anticipate deals in their sectors. They are good at initiating deals and working with appropriate teams to execute deals completely. Their remuneration are often in two tiers; core compensation and bonus driven compensation based on deals closures.

  Director/ Senior Vice Presidents (Expert Portfolio Manager / Expert Makers)

  Senior Vice Presidents / Executive Director (Expert Portfolio Manager / Expert Makers)

  The work of a senior Vice president is similar to that of the Vice President. The only difference is that, Senior Vice Presidents and or Director serve on the Board of the divisions within the group. These are bankers who are being groomed to take over as Managing Directors of Territories/Regions or wholly owned subsidiaries.

  As expert portfolio Managers and Expert Markers, our Directors (Senior Vice Presidents) possess deep understand of the business landscape across industries, sectors and regions. They possess expert skill in anticipating deals and working to get deals live. As big picture bankers, their remuneration are often in several tiers; comprising core compensation, bonuses and several executive leaguers.

  President/Managing Director (Territorial Controller /Big Deal Maker)

  Senior Vice Presidents / Executive Director (Expert Portfolio Manager / Expert Makers)

  Our Presidents and managing Directors are at the pinnacle of our organizational hierarchy. They are territorial controllers and big deal makers. Managing Directors anticipates the needs of companies and governments and skillfully craft pitches for kick-start strategic discussions covering M&A and LBO.

  Our Managing Directors are in charged with wholly owned subsidiaries as well as regional divisions. As big picture bankers, their remuneration are often in several tiers; comprising core compensation, bonuses and several executive leaguers.
